    Business real property can be a great investment for self managed superannuation funds but there is one big potential problem that trustees need to be aware of.

    If an SMSF owns commercial property and rents it back to a business run by one of the fund’s trustees, and the trustee fails to pay rent to the super fund due to cash flow issues with the business, the fund could potentially be in breach of a number of serious rules.
