Bank of Queensland has provided another boost for the Beaudesert Shire today with the opening of a new branch at Jimboomba, just two months after the opening of a new branch in the heart of Beaudesert.
Beaudesert Shire Mayor, Cr Ron Munn in officially opening the Bank’s 124th branch at a community celebration, said the opening of Bank of Queensland Jimboomba confirms the Bank’s commitment to the Shire.
“I congratulate Bank of Queensland on their genuine show of commitment to bring banking services back into communities such as Jimboomba,” Cr Munn said.
“Jimboomba residents and businesses have suffered from Bank closures in the area over the past five years, so it is a welcome plus to have Bank of Queensland opening their doors for business.
“I am confident the community will get behind Bank of Queensland and show their support for a Bank that acknowledges the strong growth and potential in the area,” Cr Munn said.
Bank of Queensland General Manager Retail, Donna Brown endorsed Cr Munn’s comments, saying Bank of Queensland was now an integral part of Jimboomba and will share in its future, helping to fuel growth and development in the region.
“Banks are an important part of communities and we have supported communities by opening 31 new branches throughout metropolitan, rural and regional Queensland in just under two years,” Ms Brown said.
Jimboomba owner-manager Nigel Faulkner said he was excited to bring full-service banking back to the area.
“I am delighted to be able to provide the Jimboomba and surrounding communities with friendly face-to-face banking and a full range of personal and business banking products,” Nigel said.
“The branch will even be open for business on Saturday mornings for extra customer convenience.
“Bank of Queensland Jimboomba branch is the only full service bank within a 20km radius. This is the sort of service the community needs and that Bank of Queensland is committed to providing,” Nigel said.
The branch is located at Shop 7, Jimboomba Shopping Centre, Mt Lindesay Highway and can be contacted on 5548 6655.
