Wallaby Celebrates Victory for South Bank

South Bank had its own case of ‘Rugby Fever’ today when three Queensland icons, Wallaby Ben Tune, Bank of Queensland and South Bank joined to officially open a new Bank of Queensland branch at South Bank.

As the nation hyped-up for the Rugby World Cup Grand Final, a host of Brisbane business and sporting identities celebrated a victory for the South Brisbane community with the opening of the inner-city suburb’s only bank.

The new Bank of Queensland South Bank branch will be owner-managed by Ben Tune and his business partners Sean Ryan and Dimity Taylor who bring more than 25 years’ combined banking and finance experience to the community.

Ben, who will be the public face of the landmark Bank of Queensland South Bank branch, said he was looking forward to being an integral member of the Bank of Queensland team and being responsible for the level of service his customers receive.

“This is an exciting day for me - taking my relationship with Bank of Queensland from a Queensland Reds player to the next level,” Ben said.

“Sean, Dimity and I are genuinely committed to offering the best customer service and to making a difference to the South Brisbane community by bringing a community-focused bank into the area and providing a full-range of personal and business products as well as the mod-cons of telephone and Internet banking.”

“We invite the community to come into the branch and experience Bank of Queensland’s well-renowned professional and friendly customer service. If people can’t make it to the branch to see us we are just as happy to visit their workplace or residence,” Ben said.

Bank of Queensland Managing Director, David Liddy said the Bank was excited to have Ben, Sean and Dimity join the team to fill the gap in banking services to the South Brisbane area.

“South Brisbane has been experiencing strong commercial, business and residential growth in recent years and is showing no signs of a slowing. It makes great sense to bring convenient, person2person™ banking to the community to complement this growth,” Mr Liddy said.

The new Bank of Queensland South Bank branch was officially opened by former Wallaby Captain and media personality Andrew Slack.

The branch is located at Shop 4, 184 – 186 Grey Street, South Bank and can be contacted on 3033 4000.
