Bank of Queensland Bribie Island this week marks its second birthday, but it’s residents who are celebrating.
Allan Coe, who owns as well as manages the branch, said Bank of Queensland’s presence on the Island had grown so strongly that it was now the most convenient bank for residents and visitors alike.
“Living on Bribie is all about lifestyle, so our efforts have been directed at making it as quick and convenient as possible for our customers to manage their money,” Allan said.
“Not only is my branch open six days a week, including on Saturday mornings, but we have the largest network of ATMs of any Bank on the island – and it’s still growing.
“This reflects Bank of Queensland’s philosophy of providing Australia’s very best customer service, something I have striven to achieve here in my branch.
“I like to think my large number of customers over the past 24 months have come here in search of a better service alternative – and have found it.
“The key to Bank of Queensland’s service approach is the Owner-Managed Branch which means customers can come into the branch and talk directly to me, the Owner-Manager, about their finances,” Allan said.
“They don’t have to use Phone or Internet Banking if they don’t want to and they don’t have to call an automated call centre to do their banking either.
“They just drop in here at the branch or call us direct on our branch phone and we are able to attend to all their banking and finance needs, from day-to-day banking, to investing, to financial planning to insurance.
“What’s more, I am my own boss, so I can spend as much tine as I want to with my customers, even visit them at their home or office if this is more convenient to them.
“And the Island’s small businesses, too, can enjoy the same advantages as my personal customers.
“Whereas the big banks have largely left small businesses to their own devices, struggling with frustrating call centres or busy, and impersonal business banking centres, my business customers can come directly in and see me or one of my team.
“This means I can build a relationship with them and get to know their business, their goals, their needs and their concerns.
“Plus, I am a local small business like any other, so I appreciate their needs and concerns.
“I know that to many people, this sounds too good to be true, a pipe dream. That’s what many of my customers thought before they came to see me – now they’re here to stay.
“I would suggest anyone who is unhappy with the service they get from their bank, pop into my branch on Goodwin Drive or call me on and see what a difference I can make to your life.
