BOQ announces management restructure

Bank of Queensland Managing Director David Liddy today formally announced a restructure of the Bank’s Group Executive to better align the business units to maximise future growth potential.

Mr Liddy said the Bank’s merger with Pioneer Building Society and its proposed mergers with Mackay and Home Building Societies, along with strong organic growth, necessitated a streamlining and strengthening of the executive structure.

“Bank of Queensland’s strength over the last six years has been its continuous evolution and the way it has managed its phenomenal growth and success. This management structure brings together a diverse group of executives and sets the stage for future growth, both through acquisitions and our expanding branch and business banking networks,” he said.

“The structure will also allow me to take a step back from the day-to-day operations of the Bank and focus on positioning BOQ for the future.”

The new structure is:

Robert Hines, Group Executive Retail Financial Services: BOQ’s CFO for the last seven years, Robert takes the key position heading BOQ’s franchise and corporate branch network, Private Banking, Direct Banking, Alliances, Wealth Management, and Insurance.

David Marshall, Group Executive Business Financial Services: David was formerly Chief Executive for BSP Capital Limited and had senior national roles with CBA and Westpac. His new role includes Business Relationship Banking, Equipment Finance, Property Finance, Debtor Finance and Trade Finance.

Ram Kangatharan, Group Executive & Chief Financial Officer: Ram will join the Bank in November from EDS in the USA and will be responsible for Finance, Treasury, Group Risk, Legal Affairs and Management Information Systems. Ram was Boss Magazine’s Young Executive of the Year in 2006.

Iain Blacklaw, Group Executive IT & Operations: Iain’s role has expanded from IT to also include  National Operations, Property Services, and the Enterprise Program Office. Before joining BOQ more than a year ago, Iain had previously worked in senior roles with EDS, Westpac and SAP.

Daniel Musson, Group Executive People & Corporate Services: Dan will join BOQ in November from IAG and has formerly worked in retail and banking and will be responsible for Human Resources, Brand Management, Product Management, Corporate Affairs, Customer Relations and Investor Relations.
