Regular payments established using your (Visa, MasterCard) Debit or Credit Card Number.
There are two types of Regular Payments: Recurring and Instalment. Both are automated payments which are debited from your credit or debit card at predetermined intervals. Regular payments are an agreement between you and a company which you pre-authorise to bill your card account. To find out more about Regular Payments refer to the Making Sense of Regular Payments section of this website.
If you wish to establish a Regular Payment arrangement on your Debit or Credit Card, then you will need to provide personal details such as your card number, expiry date and in some instances the three digit security code to the person(s) who you authorise to debit your account.
If your card details change, then you will need to notify the person(s) who currently debit your account.
Below are some simple steps you can follow:
- Keep a record of all Regular Payment Arrangements you have established and store them in a safe place. You can use the template provided.
- Contact the person(s) authorised to debit your account by phone, mail or internet and follow their instructions; or generate a change in account details letter that you can print, sign and send.
A Q & A is provided for more information on regular payments. You can also refer to the APCA website.
