Key factors
for fast Internet Banking access
Bank of Queensland aims to offer a fast and high-quality service on our home page and especially to users of Bank of Queensland Internet Banking. The speed of access to our services depends on a number of factors. These factors are:
Our systems
Bank of Queensland's powerful and fast web servers ensure fast access to our services. Nevertheless, delays may occur, considering that demand for Bank of Queensland Enhanced Internet Banking is particularly high at certain times of the day. Bank of Queensland Enhanced Internet Banking is most frequently used between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm. Transmission of encrypted pages (https://) used in Bank of Queensland Enhanced Internet Banking (for security reasons), is generally slower than transmission of unencrypted information. Customers with low-bandwidth Internet access are particularly affected by this. If you have low-bandwidth, we recommend you do your Internet Banking whenever possible during times of lower utilisation, which has the advantage of faster response times.
Your Internet access
The speed at which your computer links up to the Internet depends on factors such as:
- the choice of your Internet Service Provider (ISP)
- the type and technology of your Internet access
- the speed of your computer
- your operating system and web browser.
With Internet access via a telephone line, the quality of this line is a decisive factor. A wide choice of types of access and technologies are available which make differing transmission rates possible (e.g. an analog modem, ISDN, ADSL, a cable Internet connection, a non-switched line or a mobile phone). Cable Internet connections and non-switched lines are rated as very fast, while analog modems and mobile phones are considered relatively slow.
Your computer
An important factor in the overall speed are the features of your computer system. Please refer to Recommended minimum computer hardware, Recommended operating systems and Recommended browsers and settings.
