When travelling overseas, we can help you with:
You can get the currency immediately from one of our branches or within 24-48 hours, depending on your location. You can obtain a quoted price at our branches so you don't need to wait until the money arrives before knowing what it will cost. You can even order Cash Passport Cards on-line.
When you've returned from your trip, we'll even buy back any foreign cash that you couldn't spend on last-minute souvenirs. (Please note, the sale of foreign cash to the Bank is subject to the Bank's policies as amended from time to time.)

Foreign cash
Some of our branches hold stocks of foreign currency for immediate sale. If the currency isn't available immediately, your local branch can order any of the 40 different currencies, which you can collect within 24 to 48 hours.
For currencies we sell to you, we charge 1% of the AUD value with a minimum of $5 per currency. For currencies we purchase from you there is a repurchase fee of $5.00 per currency.

Travellers cheques
Travellers cheques allow the holder to receive payment for the face value of the cheque; and as you are required to sign them at the time of purchase, they can only be legally redeemed by you.
Travellers cheques are available in the American Express brand in USD, GBP and EUR, and are widely accepted at shops, restaurants, hotels and may be accepted at many other venues around the world. You can also exchange them at banks, financial institutions and Bureau de Changes.
There is a global, 24-hour 'Help & Refund Service' that gives you a quick and easy access to replacement cheques, or the payment of a cash equivalent, in the event of your travellers cheques being lost or stolen.
