Cards get lost. But by taking a few simple precautions you can minimise the chance of your Account Access Card going missing or worse, have someone use it unlawfully.
To protect your card you should:
- sign your name on the reverse as soon as you receive it
- carry your card with you whenever possible, for example don’t leave it in the car
- make a habit of checking that you still have your card
- not give your card to anybody else, including family and friends.
If your card is misplaced, it is important that you notify Bank of Queensland as soon as you become aware that it has been lost or stolen, or if you suspect unauthorised transactions have been made on your account. If you fail to inform the Bank within a reasonable time, you may be responsible for losses that occur as a result.
Your liability will be determined under the ePayments Code.
In order to notify us of a lost or stolen card, please contact your nearest Bank of Queensland branch or phone 1800 077 024. You can reach us on this freecall number seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
