Our diversity and inclusion strategy is continually evolving towards harnessing broader intersectionality through inclusive behaviours that will foster a diverse workplace culture and enhance the employee experience.​

ProudlyMe

ProudlyMe provides a voice to the LGBTQIA+ and ally community across the group, striving to uplift and empower our people of diverse sexualities and genders trhough training and education, culture and events, and advocatin for inclusive polocies and procedures.

 

First Nations Reconciliation Council.

The First Nations Reconciliation Council is focused on helping BOQ achieve its reconcilitation vision through a collaborative, optimisitc and inclusive approach.

Cultural Capital Committee

With a vision to celebrate and amplify the rich cultural diversity across the Group's people, customers and communties by being outrageously courageous and deeply curious.

The Career Network

With a purpose of facilitatcing and inclusinve community fostering personal and professional development for our evolving talent.

Spark

Spark is focused on igniting conversations to insprie and enable gender equality across the Group and driving actions to achived change across leadership, represtation and removing barriers.

Gender Equity at BOQ.  

BOQ is a strong advocate for supporting women in the banking and financial services industry. Our particular focus is on expanding the representation, engagement and development of women in leadership positions.

BOQ’s gender affinity group, SPARK, regularly hosts internal events aimed at empowering, educating and encouraging BOQ employees, regardless of their gender identity. The aim of this network is to spark the conversation and support the need for change while advocating for gender equality and overcoming any bias that stands in the way of our employees’ personal and professional development.

WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality

In 2023, BOQ was recognised as a citation holder for the second time as a WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE). The Employer of Choice for Gender Equality is a voluntary best-practice recognition program designed to encourage, recognise and promote organisations with an active commitment to achieving gender equality in the workplace.

From 4 March 2025, the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) will be publishing the gender pay gaps of private sector Australian employers with a workforce of 100 or more employees.

BOQ’s commitment to the Multicultural Queensland Charter.

The Multicultural Queensland Charter aims to promote cultural diversity in the workplace. Their vision of a unified, harmonious and inclusive community is based on eight key principles. As a Multicultural Queensland Ambassador program member, BOQ promotes and supports the principles of the Charter within our organisation by adopting best practice and embracing diversity. This program also helps us gain a range of social and economic benefits from Queensland’s growing diversity.
