The SMS Settings screen is where you can activate the types of SMS alerts and enquiries you wish to have available for your accounts.

Some alerts selected here will trigger automatically, such as an Alert for New Mail. Others are dependant on a request from you, such as a Balance Enquiry.

On the SMS Settings screen is a list of the services you have already requested, if any. If you have not turned on the SMS Service, you will have the option to Turn On SMS Service.

 

  • To request an SMS alert or enquiry:
    1. Go to the SMS Settings screen (available by selecting SMS from the More menu option) and select SMS Services.
    2. The SMS Settings tab will display.
    3. Click Change Settings.
    4. Select the required SMS service/s to be added and click Save (or click Cancel to return to the Active SMS Services list without saving any changes made). 
  • To delete an SMS alert or enquiry:
    1. Go to the SMS Settings screen (available by selecting SMS from the More menu option) and select SMS Services.
    2. The SMS Settings tab will display.
    3. Click Change Settings.
    4. Deselect the SMS service/s to be removed and click Save (or click Cancel to return to the Active SMS Services list without saving any changes made).
  • To use the balance/transaction list enquiry:

    To request information about your accounts you can send an SMS to the BOQ SMS enquiry number (0427 45 72 72) with an action code and the Quick Access Number (QAN) you have allocated to your account. The action codes to use are as follows:

    • BAL QAN# = the current and available balance of the requested Account.
    • TXN QAN# = the last 5 transactions for the requested Account (most recent first) 

    For example, to request the balance of the account you have associated to QAN1, you would SMS BAL 1 to 0427 45 72 72.

Turn Off SMS Service  Turn off SMS services for your profile - this will stop all alerts and enquiries on your accounts
