BOQ Internship Program
Information for 2023/2024 intake coming soon!
Turn possibilities into reality by kick-starting your career with our BOQ Internship program.
Across the BOQ Group, we aspire to be a compelling alternative to the big banks through our human, relationship-focused approach to banking, that puts the customer at the heart of everything we do. We’re excited to offer you the opportunity to truly make an impact on your career and our customers, by joining BOQ’s Internship Program.
Over the 11 week program, you’ll get to work on meaningful work which will provide you with the diverse experiences you need to take the first steps in your career in financial services. Working in your preferred team, you’ll have a support network of leaders, team members, mentors and learning facilitators. This support team will help you develop technical knowledge and interpersonal skill, on-the-job and through business projects and formal training.
What you’ll love…
Fast-track your career: As an intern, you’ll be provided future career opportunities at BOQ and first considered for permanent roles within the business after graduation.
Continual development & support: You will be supported during the program via on-the-job training and professional development sessions. You will also be connected with the intern cohort to assist you with your day-to-day tasks and to help you navigate through work life. As a member of our Early Career Network, you’ll also have access to other like-minded people from across the organisation.
Build relationships that last: Our culture is built around strong relationships, inclusion and acceptance. People at BOQ care about your experience and will welcome you to the team. Our work environment supports you in building collaborative partnerships so you can feel confident in contributing to BOQ’s strategy and grow your networks for the future.
Exposure to the best: Networking opportunities within the program will give you the chance to meet our senior leaders and executives. This exposure will provide you with valuable insights to support your own career journey.
Challenge and growth: You’ll be getting your hands dirty and contributing to team and business goals within your first few weeks. We’re keen to stretch your thinking and learning right from the start, which means you need to be ready to bring your ‘A’ game from day one.
Create impact: Our agile teams will often have a broader scope, which means you can make a wider impact in the work you do. It also means you get to be more involved in end-to-end experiences, rather than just small parts of a whole.
Bring the future forward: The banking industry is constantly changing. Global trends like digitisation and changing customer expectations, alongside regulatory reform are creating the platform for exciting transformations that our interns can contribute to across the business.
Our Internship Program is located across three of our state offices. We have placements at our head office in Brisbane, Newstead, Sydney CBD or Melbourne CBD. As we navigate COVID-19, we’ll also work with you and your team to determine where working from home makes sense.
