BOQ announced in 2020, a review and remediation plan of its payroll processes, following the discovery of errors in the payment of salaries and entitlements resulting in underpayments and overpayments for some employees.

BOQ has made remediation payments to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) as part of the Superannuation Guarantee Amnesty and the ATO has also directly contacted past and present employees who have received contributions into their superannuation accounts.

A broader external wage analysis and review for BOQ Enterprise Agreement (EA) employees is being conducted after some irregularities were found in relation to some payments and allowances. The issues identified relate to people employed under the 2010, 2014 and 2018 EAs.  BOQ has contacted and will continue to contact any affected former and current EA employees.
