The South Side Swallows Gymnastic Club will use the donation to purchase much needed equipment for their kindy gym program, which allows children from as young two years old to become involved in the sport. They will also use the donation to update and replace equipment used by the higher levels.

South Side Swallows Gymnastic Club President Lionel Brooks said, “It’s fantastic that a locally owed business still has the ability and generosity in this economic climate to invest in the future of our young people.

“We’re also pleased that Glen will also be involved in our gymnastics presentation on the 28 March, it’s great to have his support in person also.”

South Cairns Australian Football Club, Club President, Lance Dixon reiterated Mr Brooks’ comments saying, “In this turbulent economic climate, finding sponsorship for senior sporting activities is often difficult. This money will help us develop our club for the future, and improve facilities for both our junior and senior football clubs.”

As ongoing financial support to both clubs, BOQ Mt Sheridan will also donate $200 from every home loan settled which involves a club member and / or their families to their respective clubs.

“They just need to mention that they’re part of Southside Gymnastics or South Cairns Cutters and $200 will go straight back to their club,” Glen said.

“The people of Mt Sheridan have supported my Owner-Managed branch for more than 5 years and I’m grateful that through the Bank I can support my local community.”
