BOQ Offers More Disaster Relief Assistance for Business Customers

Thursday, 10/02/2011

BOQ has increased its hardship relief package to further assist its Equipment Finance business customers impacted by Cyclone Yasi and the floods in Queensland and Victoria.

A special hardship relief package, initially developed for the Bank’s business customers who were heavily affected by the floods, will also be offered to victims of Cyclone Yasi.

BOQ Managing Director David Liddy said BOQ Equipment Finance (BOQEF) will provide more relief measures through its hardship package to help its existing customers affected by the cyclone and floods get back to business sooner.

The expanded hardship relief package includes:
• Opportunity to defer payments for up to three months on Equipment Finance contracts.
• Waiver of substitution or early termination arising from insurance payouts of written-off cyclone or flood damaged equipment financed by Equipment Finance.
• Opportunity for finance of replacement equipment rendered inoperable due to Cyclone Yasi or flood waters, without the standard requirements for detailed financial information. Conditions apply.  Standard documentation fees will also be waived for applications approved under this offer.

A BOQEF Hardship Relief Application form is available for eligible customers by contacting BOQ’s Financial Hardship Team (FHAT) on 1800 079 866 or financialhardship@boq.com.au

“Our Equipment Finance hardship relief package is part of a special hardship package we’ve established for customers requiring financial assistance as a result of the recent extreme weather events,” Mr Liddy said.

“BOQ is committed to our customers and we want to do whatever we can to help those affected get back on their feet as quickly as possible.”

Relief under the BOQEF hardship relief package is only available to customers affected by Cyclone Yasi and the December 2010 and January / February 2011 floods in Queensland and Victoria.  Other conditions apply.
