BOQ is a strong advocate for supporting women in the banking and financial services industry. Our particular focus is on expanding the representation, engagement and development of women in leadership positions. BOQ is proud to hold the Work180 Endorsed Employer for Women accreditation for 2020, with a financial year target of 44 per cent of female leaders (currently at 42 per cent).
BOQ has made key changes to our parental leave policy, increasing parental leave entitlement from 13 to 16 weeks, and now offers four weeks parental leave for the secondary carer. We have also removed the waiting period for all permanent employees and are continuing to pay superannuation during parental leave.
BOQ also has an internal Women Ignite Network (WIN) that regularly hosts internal events aimed at empowering, educating and encouraging BOQ employees, regardless of their gender identity. The aim of BOQ’s WIN is to support and advocate for women by growing self-confidence, expanding connections and overcoming any gender bias that stands in the way of personal and professional development.
