BOQ Group celebrates its legacy with a move back to Queen Street in 2026

After a decade in Newstead, BOQ Group plans to relocate its head office to 360 Queen Street in October 2026.

The move will see BOQ Group, now 151 years old, return to its historic Queen Street CBD location with a modern, sustainable workspace.

“Queen Street has been part of BOQ’s story since the 1930s, and we continue to operate a branch at 116 Queen Street today,” said BOQ Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Patrick Allaway.

“This move is a homecoming that honours our heritage while embracing the future. We’re investing in a space that supports our people, our customers and our transformation journey,” he said.

Located in Brisbane’s Golden Triangle, 360 Queen Street will be a Carbon Neutral Building spanning 33 levels offering over 45,000sqm of office space, developed by Charter Hall and Investa.

BOQ Group’s lease will provide space for Brisbane-based team members, delivering centrally located, state-of-the-art, work environments crafted to encourage connection, collaboration and innovation—also helping BOQ attract and retain leading talent.

The new space will be designed with staff input and will include breakout zones, flexible workstations and facilities to support a geographically dispersed workforce visiting from outside of Brisbane.

Over the course of 151 years, BOQ Group has purchased or leased various properties along Queen Street. BOQ staff began operating from 115 Queen Street in 1934, and by 1936, the location became the central hub following a move from Adelaide Street. In 2004, the head office relocated to MacArthur Tower at 259 Queen Street, which was subsequently renamed ‘BOQ Centre’ in recognition of its anchor tenant and owner. Today, BOQ Group continues to maintain a branch at 116 Queen Street.
