With over 45 years of history in the Australian and New Zealand markets, BOQF is proudly backing your business because we know that the only way we succeed, is if your business does.

BOQ Specialist 

Delivers distinctive banking solutions to niche market segments including medical, dental, veterinary and accounting professionals. BOQ acquired the business (previously Investec Professional Finance) as part of Investec Bank (Australia) Limited in 2014. BOQ Specialist operates as a separate division of BOQ's Business Bank.

Virgin Money Australia 

Is a digital retail financial services company that aims to provide a wide range of great value financial products that are easy to understand and sort out. Virgin Money is a compelling alternative to the big banks. BOQ acquired Virgin Money Australia in 2013 and it operates as a standalone business within the BOQ Group.

ME Bank 

Is a retail bank with a well-recognised brand, offering simple products, in straight forward language, and with an Australian based customer service support. BOQ acquired ME Bank in 2021.

Group Risk

Group Risk’s purpose is to enable the BOQ Group to deliver on its strategy by embedding ‘risk by design’ and providing practical insights to support risk-based decision making.

Our objective is to oversee the risk profile and the risk management framework of BOQ Group to identify, monitor and measure risk on a regular basis. This is supported by the Group Risk Division which includes Group Operational Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Financial Crime Risk, Regulatory Affairs and Market Risk.

    Risk Analytics

    Generate business value by developing evidenced based insights into the credit risk BOQ takes. This helps BOQ to automate its credit process accurately, price for risk and subsequently enhance shareholder value. We provide the information and support within Group Risk and to key stakeholders for risk monitoring purposes.

    Risk Operations

    The Non-Financial Risk Advisory team partners with BOQ Group to assist with the achievement of their strategy and objectives. The advisory team works with other operational teams to present best outcomes to the business including: gu​ida​nce and oversight for operational risk and compliance incidents, management of risks including capability, change, project, IT and people and processes, and business continuity.

    Financial Crimes Risk

    The Financial Crimes, Anti Money Laundering & Client Lifecycle teams are committed to the continual reduction of physical & technical threats for BOQ Group, both internally and externally. The main challenge is that we work in a constantly changing environment, with criminal activity always evolving as new ways are found to commit crimes and attempt to harm our business. In addition to the above, the teams also aim to ensure the bank adheres to the requirements of laws, industry and organisational standards & codes, principles of good governance and accepted community & ethical standards.

In Group Finance, we are focused on BOQ’s key fiancial activities. This includes; our integrated people strategy, technology architecture roadmap, process improvements to optimise our performance and experience, streamlining reporting to generate insights and drive strong returns, and productivity improvements.

Our team is key in supporting business led initiatives which optimise BOQ's multi-brand strategy and overall business capabilities.

    Chief Information Operations Office (CIO)

    The CIO Office supports the CIO and Group Tech Leadership team as well as the internal workings of the Group Tech division itself. It provides support across performance reporting, people and culture, strategic initiatives, communications, planning and management.

    Information Security & Tech Risk

    The Information Security team is responsible for detecting, analysing and responding to security events and incidents, targeting network infrastructure, sensitive data, intellectual property and employees. Additionally, Tech Risk tracks and maintains all reports and actions needed to achieve compliance against security policies, regulations, and audits.

    Data & Analytics

    Data & Analytics is responsible for delivering a modern scalable data platform that unlocks the potential of our customers and bankers. We do this through provision of trusted reliable data to drive analytical insights and informed decision making, as well as enabling better customer experiences.

    Group Architecture & Retail Tech

    This team is responsible for delivering the technology transformation agenda in line with Business Bank transformation objectives enabling technology change supporting our multi-brands; BOQ, Virgin Money Australia and ME Bank. They are also responsible for shaping, driving and updating BOQ Group's Technology strategy against business objectives, technology innovation and capability.

    Digital & Innovation

    The Digital & Innovation supports the BOQ website and digital channels (mobile app and IB) including digital sales, digital analytics and generating new accounts.

    Service Delivery & Group Services Tech

    The Services Deliver team coordinates the whole service delivery ecosystem, covering internal and external operations which includes local on-prem and global cloud service operations. Our capabilities include service desk, incident and major incident management, change management and problem management, disaster recovery, service planning to name a few.                           

    The Group Services Tech team are responsible for administration and management of the banks technology, information and data platforms. We also administer and manage our Modern Workplace solutions supporting our end users.

People & Culture

People & Culture (Human Resources) is a community of functions which support each of BOQ Group’s business units from start to finish.

This includes:

Operations Support; Learning & Development; Organisational Development; Payroll, Remuneration & Reward; Work Health & Safety; Business Partnering ; Enterprise Capability; Employee Relations; Data and Insights; Recruitment.

People & Culture also delivers employee programs and works with the leadership team to provide strategic HR support.
