BOQ Maleny Celebrates Milestone With Visit From MD

Tuesday, 24/06/2008

The Bank of Queensland branch in Maleny achieved a major milestone this week, celebrating its first birthday with a visit from Managing Director David Liddy.

During the past twelve months the branch has also integrated the Maleny Pioneer Building Society branch, and Owner-Manager Stephen Dittman says business is booming.

“It’s been a really exciting twelve months and I’m definitely looking forward to the next twelve.

“We have had huge support from the local community and now have strong relationships with most of our customers, to the point where we can sit down with them over a cup of coffee and really talk to them about their banking needs and how we can help them.

“We had a great time thanking a few of our customers for their support at an afternoon tea hosted by David Liddy at the Maple 3 Café, next door to our branch.

“David spoke to our clients about the Bank and the benefits of having an Owner-Manager looking after them, and I think they appreciated him taking time out of his busy schedule to have a chat.”

Stephen said that a number of customers had remarked that having the Managing Director drop by for afternoon tea seemed to sum up what Bank of Queensland was all about; old fashioned personal customer service.

“Many of our customers have commented on the advantages of dealing directly with people they know and trust for their banking and finance needs,” said Stephen.

“And we’ve also had a number of business clients who have told us how happy they are with the service we offer their employees, which makes for a win-win situation for everyone involved really!”

“I would like to thank the community for their strong support for what was a year ago an unusual concept – a bank that is owned by the people who serve behind the counter.”

Bank of Queensland Maleny is located at 1 Maple Street and can be contacted directly on 5499 9855.
