Bank of Queensland Smashes the $100,000 Banking on our Kids Fundraising Target

Bank of Queensland branches all around Australia have helped smash all previous records for this year’s Banking on our kids campaign, which raises money for children’s hospitals around Australia.

Bank of Queensland staff have smashed last year’s record of $90,000 and pushed through the 100 Grand barrier with money still coming in.

The funds will be shared between Australia’s five leading children’s hospitals, including the Sydney Children’s Hospital, which treats thousands of seriously sick and injured kids from rural New South Wales every year.

Managing Director David Liddy said he was thrilled by that energy and imitative displayed by the Bank’s Owner-Managers and staff in raising money for this important charity had achieved such a marvellous result.

“We were excited last year when we raised a record $90,000 – but this year we are ecstatic that we have not only reached but smashed our ambitious $100,000 target!” David said.

“It just goes to show that, even in tough times, Australians are happy to dig deep to help each other out and especially to help our kids.

“I pay tribute to BOQ teams and customers across Australia who supported fund-raising events as diverse as trivia and movie nights, gourmet luncheons, cocktail functions, food drives, lolly guessing and funny face competitions, raffles, pink dress days...even a horse-racing carnival.

“I’d also like to thank the hundreds/thousands of customers and passers-by who purchased the Helping Hearts cards, especially those who took the time to write heart-felt messages of messages of encouragement on the back.

“These cards not only helped us raise valuable funds, but will help raise the spirits of hundreds of sick and injured kids when they are distributed throughout the wards of the five member hospitals around Australia in coming weeks.”
