Local junior rugby league players at Easts Mt Gravatt are set to get off to a great start in the upcoming football season after Bank of Queensland Upper Mt Gravatt signed on as their new sponsor this month.

BOQ Upper Mt Gravatt Customer Service Manager Tammy Longdon said her branch has committed $3000 to sponsor Easts Mt Gravatt Junior Rugby League Football Club (JRLFC) for the next year.

“Our branch is delighted to be a sponsor of Easts Mt Gravatt JRLFC and support the club’s important development of young rugby league players,” Tammy said.

“We love our footy at the branch and enjoy getting involved in our local community, so when our team member Sam Ellis told us about the great club where her son Jackson plays, we decided to get behind them.

“Easts Mt Gravatt JRLFC deserves our support as they are a family oriented club who put the kids first.

“After all, these kids could be our next rugby league stars of the future, so we want to see the club grow.

“Our branch’s sponsorship will help to provide a new electronic scoreboard for the club’s playing field and award trophies for the players.

“We’ll also be donating water bottles to all of the junior teams for their league matches.”

Easts Mt Gravatt JRLFC President Dennis Halligan said his club is excited to have BOQ Upper Mt Gravatt onboard as a sponsor.

“Our club depends on community support for our future livelihood so we really value having a strong partner like Bank of Queensland behind us,” Dennis said.

“On behalf of Easts Mt Gravatt JRLFC, I would like to express my gratitude to Tammy and her team at the branch and we look forward to an action-packed season of junior rugby league ahead.”
