BOQ Calls for Heroes This July

This July BOQ is asking Australians to join them and the ‘Hospital Heroes’ on their mission to help raise awareness and funds for life-saving medical equipment for sick Aussie kids through BOQ’s Banking on our Kids appeal.
For many children undergoing treatment in hospital, their first encounter with medical equipment can be a scary one. That’s why this July, BOQ and Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia have turned intimidating medical machinery into a friendly cast of Hospital Heroes – a super squad of medical and research equipment that are on a mission to help sick kids.
To launch the appeal on Friday, 7 July Australian’s are being encouraged to join the cause by posting their own hero image or message using the hashtag #hospitalheroes and donating to the appeal through the BOQ website or by visiting their local BOQ branch.
BOQ CEO and Managing Director, Jon Sutton, said BOQ’s Banking on our Kids appeal is one that is very close to his heart and something BOQ has been very passionate about supporting over the last 13 years.
“Raising healthy children is something we take for granted, until something happens. For those families who have experienced a child with a serious illness, hospitals along with the lifesaving equipment can be very daunting,” Mr Sutton said.
“That’s why this July, we’re shining a spotlight on ‘Hospital Heroes’ by raising funds and awareness for desperately needed medical equipment and research to help those children fighting illnesses.
“I encourage all Australians to show their support and donate to become a hero. Over the past 13 years we have raised over $1.95 million dollars and are proud to see the incredible difference this has made to children and families through the valuable work of Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia.”
Children’s Hospital Foundation Acting CEO, Damon Mudge said BOQ’s Banking on our Kids appeal would provide vital funding for medical equipment and research.
“This appeal will help fund much-needed medical equipment and support vital research to find faster diagnoses, better treatments and ultimately cures for some of the most devastating childhood illnesses and injuries,” Mr Mudge said.
“Every sick child deserves a chance at a happy and healthy life and with the support of BOQ and their generous customers, we can continue to help, support and entertain kids and their families in children’s hospitals across Australia.”

All donations from BOQ’s Banking on our Kids appeal go directly to Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia.

What is Banking on our Kids?Banking on our Kids is BOQ’s annual fundraising appeal. Every July, BOQ’s entire national network collects donations and hold fundraising activities to help raise vital funds for medical research through Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia.
Who do the donations go to?
All funds raised go directly to Children’s Hospital Foundations Australia, supporting four of Australia’s major children’s hospital foundations:
o Children’s Hospital Foundation, Queensland
o Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, Western Australia
o Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation, Victoria
o Sydney Children’s Hospital Foundation, New South Wales
The money raised goes directly to funding medical research, better treatments and ultimately cures for sick Aussie kids.
How much has this appeal raised overall / aim to raise this year?
Since its inception in 2004, Banking on our Kids has raised more than $1.95million. This year we aim to raise $200,000.
